Becoming a Bee Friendly Village.

In Feb 2024 we started a project to become a Bee Friendly Village. Becoming a Bee Friendly Village was a buzzing achievement for Englefield Green, placing us among just nine communities nationwide to earn this award. Our journey began with planting a wildflower corridor alongside our village green, creating safe havens bursting with nectar and pollen, vital fuel sources for bees and other pollinators. Supporting these tiny superheroes is absolutely crucial as they play a starring role in pollinating crops and wild plants, ensuring food security and vibrant ecosystems. Without them, flowers wouldn’t bloom, fruits wouldn’t set, and our natural world would lose its colourful heartbeat. By embracing bee-friendly practices, we’re not only protecting these essential creatures but also nurturing our community’s connection to nature and well-being.
